Installazione
Per preservare l'installazione di Windows è stata ridotta la partizione che lo ospita attraverso il software presente su Windows stesso.
Secure boot giá disattivato su Windows.
Preparata partizione in formato Ext4 dalla live di Ubuntu attraverso l'utilizzo di Gparted.
Installato Ubuntu seguendo la relativa guida avendo cura di:
impostare lo scaling per migliorare la leggibilità (scritte troppo piccole). Maggiori informazioni nel seguente paragrafo.
Selezionare la tastiera inglese/americana, maggiori informazioni nel seguente paragrafo.
Selezionare manualmente la partizione predisposta per Ubuntu.
Impostato Ubuntu come sistema principale all'avvio direttamente dalle impostazioni UEFI.
Premere F2 in fase di avvio.
Selezionare Boot → UEFI NVME Drive BBS Priorities.
Quindi alla voce Boot Option #1 premere Enter per impostare Ubuntu al posto di Windows.

Configurazione dei componenti
Scaling
Di default con la risoluzione dello schermo impostata su 2240 x 1400, le finestre dei programmi e soprattutto le scritte possono risultare eccessivamente piccole. Nelle impostazioni di sistema è possibile attivare lo scaling per incrementare la grandezza degli elementi che compongono il desktop.
Avviare le impostazioni di Ubuntu e selezionare Schermi.
Attivare il pulsante alla voce Scala frazionaria.
Alla voce Scala selezionare la percentuale che si ritiene più appropriata. In questa guida è stata utilizzata quella al 150%.
Tastiera
Il portatile ha una tastiera inglese/americana. Sebbene venga fornito con svariati stickers per i tasti in varie lingue tra cui l'italiano, i tasti sono stati lasciati cosí come sono. Per le lettere accentate è stato attivato il tasto compose.
Avviare le impostazioni di Ubuntu.
Selezionare Tastiera → Immissione caratteri speciali → Tasto Compose.
- Disattivare il layout predefinito.
Selezionare un tasto a scelta, in questo caso Right Alt (tasto Alt accanto alla barra spaziatrice, spesso visualizzato su altre tastiere come Alt Gr).
A questo punto:
àèìòù e ÀÈÌÒÙ: si ottengono digitando Alt + ` e quindi la vocale desiderata.
é ed É: si ottengono digitando prima Alt + ' e poi la vocale.
