Per verificare il corretto rilevamento dell'hardware del portatile, digitare in un terminale il seguente comando:

lspci

1. Avviare Kmix dalla barra delle applicazioni.

2. Fare clic sulla scheda «Mixer» e alla voce «Ingressi» controllare che i parametri «Capture» siano attive al massimo volume e che il parametro «Digital Mic» sia attivo.

3. In alternativa è possibile visualizzare il mixer direttamente nel terminale e modificare manualmente i parametri digitando il seguente comando in una finestra di terminale:

   sudo alsamixer -V -a

Kubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron

Con l'ultima versione del bios, la «A08», il touchpad non funziona correttamente.

1. Modificare con un editor di testo e con i privilegi di amministrazione il file /boot/grub/menu.lst.

2. Individuare la riga relativa al sistema Ubuntu e aggiungere in fondo alla voce del kernel il parametro «i8042.nomux=1». Il risultato sarà simile al seguente:

   title Ubuntu 8.04, kernel 2.6.24-17-generic
   root (hd0,5)
   kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.24-17-generic root=UUID=8c88d592-ef88-4aaa-a9c4-cd45e7069d94 ro quiet splash i8042.nomux=1

3. Salvare e chiudere il file, quindi riavviare il sistema.
