Rilevamento dell'hardware
Questa procedura è stata verificata per (k)ubuntu 7.10 e 7.04 .Aprire un il terminale e digitare

* Nota il risultato dovrebbe esser una cosa del genere tuttavia il Bus potrebbe cambiare

Installazione
La periferica viene automaticamente riconosciuta a patto che il file xorg.conf non sia stato modificato (fare riferimento xorg.conf di esempio in questo wiki) e che il pacchetto
{{{xserver-xorg-input-wacom }}}
sia installato. Se non lo fosse basta aprire un terminale e digitare
{{{sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-input-wacom }}}
Configurazione
Benché sia funzionante mancano alcune funzionalita' , quali la possibilità di usare la rotellina e i due tasti supplementari. Per l'abilitazione di questi strumenti si deve installare il seguente pacchetto:

A questo punto si passa alla configurazione vera e propria.
{{{sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf }}} aggiungere i seguenti elementi:
da aggiungere sotto l ultimo imputdevice che riguarda la wacom (vedere xorg.conf di esempio sotto)

EndSectionOra i tasti vengono riconosciuti dal sistema, ma non sono ancora associati mentre la rotellina funziona correttamente. Per settare i tasti\cambiare anche la configurazione della rotellina aprire un terminale e dare
xsetwacom set pad Button1 "core key a" xsetwacom set pad Button2 "core key b"
in questo il bottone 1, se premuto, avrà la stessa funzione del tasto " A " e il tasto 2 avrà la stessa funzione funzione del tasto " B "
si possono fare anche della associazioni con piu tasti ad esempio
button1 ---> ctrl alt F2

Con questa combinazione la pressione del tasto uno sarà come digitare CTRL ALT F2 insieme
Per la rotellina:
Potete lasciare invariata la funzionalità della rotellina ma con questa modifica può diventare in breve tempo uno strumento Zoom In e Zoom Out in Gimp per far questo basta associare lo scorrere verso l'alto con il tasto + e lo scorrere in basso con il tasto -

* Questi comandi devono esser dati ogni volta al riavvio. Per fare cio in maniera automatizzata guardare la sezione per lanciare i programmi all'avvio.
