Ubuntu è distribuito su Internet come immagini CD, chiamate ISO. Per installarle, devi prima masterizzarle su un CD. Hai bisogno di un masterizzatore CD/DVD funzionante per questa operazione. Questa pagina spiega come puoi masterizzare una ISO usando Windows 98 / ME / 2000 / XP / 2003 Server, Mac OS X e Ubuntu. attachments:Icone/Piccole/cd.png

Su Windows 98 /ME / 2000 /XP / 2003 Server

  1. Verifica il file ISO.
  2. Scarica e installa un software per masterizzare immagini (Iso burner).
  3. Lancia il software appena installato.
  4. Clicca "Start new data disc compilation".
  5. Dal menu File seleziona "Write disk from ISO file", e seleziona il file ISO.
  6. Inserisci un CD vuoto nel masterizzatore e seleziona "Do nothing" nella finestra di Windows che compare all'inserimento del CD.
  7. Clicca su "Write Disc", e aspetta la fine dell'operazione.
  8. Assicurati che nel BIOS il CD occupi la prima posizione nella ricerca dei dispositivi per il boot. L'operazione cambia a seconda delle macchine, ma spesso questa opzione è già attiva.

Su Mac OS X

attachment:Icone/Grandi/info.png Per masterizzare delle ISO, puoi usare "Apple's Disk Utility" (Disk Copy nelle versioni precedenti).

    • Launch Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility)

    • Drag the ISO to the sidebar of the Disk Utility main window.

    • Select the ISO where you just dragged it, and choose (Menu > Image > Burn...)

    • Insert a blank CD > Burn.

On Ubuntu

Note: When you put a blank CD in the drive, a "CD/DVD Creator" file browser will pop up automatically. Close this browser. The following instructions do not use it.

    • Verify the ISO file. [WWW] Instructions on OpenOffice.org.

    • Find the ISO image in the file browser (available at Places > Home menu on top of the screen.)

    • Right click on the ISO > Write to Disc...

    • Find the ISO image in the file browser (available at System Menu > Home Folder on bottom of the screen next to KMenu.)

    • Right click on the ISO > Actions > Write CD Image with K3b...

    • K3b Will now automatically verify the md5sum, make sure these match.
    • Place Blank CD in burner and click on start.
