Test Recording

Case ID: hmi-001

1. Verify that no external microphones are connected to the computer.

2. Open Sound Recorder (Applications -> Sound & Video -> Sound Recorder).

3. In Sound Recorder, click File -> Open Volume Control to open the Volume Control window.

4. In the Volume Control window, select the default sound card from the Device dropdown. Ensure that its Recording volume is set to an appropriate level and is not muted.

5. Select the appropriate connected playback device (sound card, headphones, etc.) from the Device dropdown. Ensure that the Playback volume is set to an appropriate level and not muted.

6. In the Sound Recorder window, select the default sound card in the Record from input dropdown.

7. Click the Record button (the red circle).

8. Talk briefly into the microphone.

9. Click the Stop button (the gray square).

10. Click the Play button (the right-facing triangle). Verify that your voice is played back and that no words have been dropped.

Verification

1. Verify that sound is recorded through the microphone.
